sunrise, sublime

Queuing up at dawn
In the eastern sky

A long ribbon of stratus
Hiding in the quarter-moon

Just tinged with first soft colors
Of sunrise--

It takes my breath away
Knowing what color

This raft of loose vapor
Will bring
