Why subsist
On the bottomless basket of rotten fruit
When it can only lead
To disillusion & dismay?
This is NOT a rhetorical question.
The poet offers this:
Identify the sources of exaltation & Joy,
Make your life
The edification of them--
And from there let the world know
What's p-o-s-s-i-b-l-e
