Kool-Aid

Ten thousand Muslims
Knelt & bowing in a vast circle:
Nothing frightens me more
Acted out in venues
Through vast tracts of space & time:
The human being born Free
And discerning
Selling it all for some formidable belonging:
This poison peril
-No matter its name or nation-
Called groupthink

  1. in education we call this "standardization" - do the dance and drink up kiddos.

  2. thanx for your comment

I understand that people yearn to belong to something, especially greater than themselves- yet "orthodoxy" scares me because you have to subsume your critical intelligence to some pre-formulated dogma that "tells the world what it is..." If there's any "secret" in my mind to spirituality, it is to cultivate an openness so far as possible- why not let the world tell you what it is?
